As part of its Presidency Programme, Malta will support the opening of the 2025 Youth Peace Camp, an initiative organised by the Council of Europe Youth Department with the support of the Directorate of Political Affairs and External Relations and the Cyprus Youth Board.
Bringing together 55 young participants from conflict-affected regions, the 2025 Youth Peace Camp will provide a unique opportunity for young people to share experiences, build trust, and learn from one another. Through experiential learning, participants will develop essential competences for peacebuilding, dialogue, and reconciliation, while engaging in meaningful exchanges with peers from across dividing lines.
In doing so, the Camp exemplifies the transformative potential of youth-led initiatives in promoting peace and social cohesion. Furthermore, it embodies some of Malta’s core policy priorities: advancing intercultural dialogue, fostering inclusive approaches, and empowering youth as active contributors to peacebuilding.
By investing in youth and peace education, the 2025 Youth Peace Camp stands as a powerful contribution to the Council of Europe’s broader mission to build a culture of peace, human rights, and mutual respect platforms young people are empowered as active agents of change.
