The 1539th meeting of the Committee of Ministers’ Deputies will be hosted in Malta as part of its Presidency of the Council of Europe. Composed of Permanent Representatives from the Council of Europe’s Member States, the Committee of Ministers’ Deputies plays a pivotal role in overseeing the organisation’s activities, driving the implementation of decisions, and addressing contemporary issues related to human rights, democracy, and the rule of law. Through regular meetings, the Committee monitors compliance with Council of Europe conventions, coordinates responses to emerging crises, and facilitates multilateral cooperation among Member States.
As President of the Committee of Ministers, Malta is tasked with chairing these high-level discussions, guiding discussions and fostering consensus on key issues that align with the Council of Europe’s fundamental values – further reinforcing its commitment to cooperation, dialogue and multilateralism.
