Held back-to-back with the Informal Conference of Ministers, the Committee of the Parties to the Convention on the Protection of Children against Sexual Exploitation and Sexual Abuse (Lanzarote Committee) will convene in Malta for its plenary meeting.
Composed of representatives of the State Parties to the Convention as well as participants and observers who meet regularly in plenary sessions, the Committee evaluates national efforts to protect children from sexual violence. Beyond monitoring, its mandate includes the issuing of opinions on specific provisions of the Lanzarote Convention as well as facilitating the exchange of information, best practices, and experiences to strengthen prevention and response efforts, including with other international organisations.
