The high-level conference, titled “Empowering Change: Technology and AI in the Fight Against Human Trafficking,” will explore both the opportunities and challenges posed by technology and artificial intelligence in combating human trafficking. While acknowledging the increasing use of technology as a tool to facilitate this crime, the conference will focus on leveraging AI and digital tools for prevention, early victim identification, and assistance, ultimately aiming to enhance the effectiveness and timeliness of interventions and strengthen the criminal justice response.

Bringing together policymakers, law enforcement officials, academics, civil society representatives, and private sector stakeholders, the event will feature informative panels and interactive workshops covering key topics. Discussions will address the ethical and human rights implications of technology and AI use in the fight against human trafficking, securing and sharing digital evidence, and building collaboration and partnerships among governments, tech companies, financial institutions, and civil society.
