The Cultural Routes Stakeholders’ Conference aims to introduce local stakeholders to the Council of Europe’s 48 Cultural Routes, highlighting the continent’s rich heritage, history, and collective memory.
It will focus on strengthening stakeholders’ understanding of the concept, methodology, and management of Cultural Routes and will encourage collaboration and knowledge exchange between national and international partners to support the development of transnational cultural routes. The event will also serve as a platform for discussing branding, audience engagement, and the five priority fields of action within the programme.
Divided into three key segments, the conference will begin with an introductory session on the Cultural Routes framework, communication strategies, and how to join or establish a route. The second part will feature insights from representatives of certified Cultural Routes, particularly those relevant to Malta, to showcase the benefits of membership. The final segment will highlight best practices from local stakeholders already involved in the programme. The event will conclude with the official certification of Heritage Malta’s membership in the Megalithic Routes, reinforcing Malta’s role in preserving and promoting European heritage.
