Step into the magic of Maltese Cinema as we celebrate 100 Years of Film in Malta – a century of storytelling, artistic talent and breathtaking backdrops for renowned international films. Yet, it is the vision of Maltese filmmakers and homegrown talent that have shaped our cinematic identity and carried it to the global stage. From the 2nd to the 6th of June, immerse yourself in a week-long tribute honouring a pioneering Maltese filmmaker whose work redefined our national cinema. Each evening Strasbourg’s historic Cosmos Cinéma, one of the oldest cinemas in France, will be home to one of his restored works, ranging from poetic reflections on memory to powerful social commentary. These screenings will be followed by five different contemporary Maltese feature films, one each evening, showcasing our country’s evolving cinematic identity.
