VIENNA, 24 October 2025 – The 41st meeting of the CoE-OSCE Coordination Group was convened in Vienna, focusing on strengthening cooperation between the two organisations in key areas such as the fight against terrorism and human trafficking. The bi-annual meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both bodies to multilateral engagement and to upholding human rights, democracy, and the rule of law.
Back-to-back with the Coordination Group meeting, Malta’s Presidency of the Council of Europe and Finland’s Chairpersonship of the OSCE jointly organised the first-ever side event dedicated to combating human trafficking. The event brought together OSCE participating States and Partners for Co-operation to assess current trafficking trends, review tangible results of joint initiatives, and identify ongoing challenges.
Both organisations highlighted their complementary roles and emphasised that active partnership and shared responsibility are essential to translating international commitments into measurable progress against human trafficking.
