The High-Level Conference held under the auspices of the Maltese Presidency will bring together public authorities, civil society, and private stakeholders to address the growing threat of disinformation to democracy, public trust, and fundamental rights. It will promote rights-based, whole-of-society strategies grounded in the European Convention on Human Rights, focusing on media literacy, education, and platform accountability. Furthermore, emphasis will be placed on safeguarding freedom of expression, enhancing citizens’ critical engagement with information, and fostering transparency in the digital space.
